Melody tata7ada el malal

Remember that ad on melody?where that guy puts on his “glasses” and he see the guy as a huge “بيضة” ?

Though i don’t like the melody channel, but the idea behind the ad was clever and attractive.

This reminds me of everyday situation, people i meet everyday, trying to be funny, or they might be funny, but just not to me.

When someone comes and say a joke like “مرة واحد مهندس وقع اتكسر ضلعة” and jokes like these, you receive it with ebtesama safra, w ta3mel nafsak mesh mab***….

On the other hand, when you look at it, the person who said it, REALLY thought it’s funny, and he was trying to make you laugh.

it happens all the time, until i discovered, am not the elitist person in the world, there must be some other people who think of me the same way i thought of the guy who told the joke.

Actually, maybe the same guy who said the joke is saying the same thing about me when i try to be funny.

Am not a funny person, i mean am not this type who can make people laugh all the time even in their worst moods (i have friends who are funny, or at least i think they are funny)

Just like what happened today, i was commenting on a few posts on the Sandmonkey blog, and people received my sarcasm in a VERY wrong way.

“”Dudes“”!!! i was just being sarcastic, black comedy, it does not reflect what my real opinion is, I thought i wrote the comment in way CLEAR way that am being sarcastic so that no one gets offended, but still many people got offended!!!

So it’s true, not everyone receives the message the way you want it sent, and not everyone interprets it the way you actually meant it.

That is exactly the same reason why the joke “مرة واحد جة يقعد على قهوة قعد على شاى” does not make me laugh.

  1. could be american, americans don’t do sarcasm

  2. I guess the sense of Sarcasm could be diminished in the 2D world of the Wed. Try using an evil laugh or a lol in between your sarcastic comment. It will help people like myself understand.
