Sports report – التقرير الرياضى

The African Cup championship has started this week in Ghana.
It’s a great chance for all the soccer hooligans and the football maniacs to express themselves.

I am not a big fan of football and I rarely watch any matches, so i found out yesterday that there is a match between Egypt and Cameroon at 7:00pm i don’t really care, specially that it’s not played in Egypt.

While coming back from work, the radio announces that Egypt is winning 2-0, which is really good, i didn’t expect that at all…i head home, ate and stuff to receive a phone call from my previous work in Abbas El Akkad that a disaster happened and that i need to go there urgently.

I go, find out that there are some wires damaged by the rain on the roof that needs to be changed. So i get on the roof (yes, in the rain and mud) and get to work.

After a while i start to hear car beeps every where, people cheering and a lot of noise, off course that meant the end of match and off course Egypt must have won.

Now lets get to the “nitty gritty”:

  1. Don’t people have anything better to do? I mean if you really care about sport why don’t you go play, not just watch?
  2. If it’s about Egypt and patriotism, why would you:
    • Block the streets
      match1.jpg
    • Make a lot of noise with cars and cheering in the streets
    • Burn aerosols packs? (a.k.a pyroso: ra7et el zanna, men wedany)
      match2.jpg
  3. You don’t have one or more of the following, so the best thing you do is hang out from a car’s window screaming and shouting while holding a flag in a blasting cold raining mid-week winter day?:
    • family
    • work
    • hobby
    • girl friend

Last thing, I AM VERY UPSET with Mr. Otto Pfister, for his extreme failure!
WHO IN THE NAME OF HELL THOUGHT EGYPT WOULD WIN!!!!!

I mean, COME ON, the only thing we’re good at is “بلى مسافات طويلة” (glass marbles ok, am sorry, we actually WON the cup :) so looks like we’re finally getting good at something

Anyway, Mr. Otto Pfister, you have done a shitty job, as you have always did.

Good luck to the Egyptian team, i really hope you win, though i doubt your skills (am not being sarcastic, am being realistic)
